Poor Guy....

Poor Mr. Miles has a bum paw (again). One of his digits just is not happy. His paw was swollen and had a open wound on it about a month ago and we took him to the doc to get checked out. They thought it was a fox-tail (like a spur) that found it's way into his paw but when they dug around they couldn't find anything. Antibiotics cleared it up but when John and I got home from work on Tuesday it was back. Doh! So back to the vet, and back on another round of antibiotics....and unfortunately for Miles...no Fiesta island or dog beach for another week or two. I do have to tell you how smart Miles is. When we went to the vet this week as soon as the technician came out Miles walked over to the scale and sat on it. He's sooooo smart and intuitive. :)
This picture looks way more depressing than it really is.

A new form of entertainment

Maybe this is a sign that John and I are getting way too grown up, but we are sooo excited about our new washing machine. Our oldie but goodie (ie: the one jacked from the buddy manor in Apex when Meg and I moved out) finally bit the dust. We decided to go big and green and get a energy efficient water saving front loading machine. For all the rinse cycles our old machine got stuck on we felt we had to bring some water saving good karma back our way. We were stoked to find such a sweet deal...gotta love the Sear's outlet center. Who knew doing laundry could be so fun..I think we're going to drink some beer and just watch the laundry tonight.
Ooooo...the Kenmore Elite is so pretty and shinny

Girl's weekend in the NC

A few weekends I got the itch again...yep, the spontaneous one and jumped a flight for a girls weekend in the NC. What a great weekend it was. Despite the jet lag (which I'm convinced I'm learning to adapt to as much as I fly). it was a great weekend. I really miss getting to spend quality time with my girlfriends and catch up on everything so it was just what I needed. And floating on the lake and drinking beer all day didn't hurt either. Enjoy a few selected pics from the weekend.

It was a battle between the girls and the swan...no one could seem to tame the float.

Group shot on Friday night...in case you haven't noticed floaties and rafts were one of the big themes of the weekend

The friendly duck. We could decide if he was just friendly or if he was a spy sent by the owners to make sure we didn't steal the pontoon boat.

Nothing beats floating on the lake with your girls and a beer :) Cheers!

I feel like this picture sums up the weekend pretty well.
